THE BATTLE ZONES
The Campaign holds eight regional zones in where battle will have an effect on the overall event.

IMPERIAL ZONES

1. The Hive City of Cautus

The Hive City of Cautus is the second largest Hive city of Ragnarokk, and by far the most secure.
After the Chaos incursion landed on the planet and the Capital city of Ubertas fell, people have flocked to the hardened shell and safe gates of Cautus, effectively making it the most densely populated area on the planet.

Harshly guarded by over half of the planets loyal defence forces, it has become the single most safe haven for humans still loyal to the Imperium, but it has also become a great deathtrap; for the lure of so many innocent souls gathered up for the slaughter is becoming an impossible morsel to resist for the Chaos forces gathering outside the city’s walls.
Already skirmishes are common as the forces of Chaos test the city’s defenses, and the only thing still holding an all out assault back, is the fact that the death of those gathered within Cautus’ walls is being reserved for the day of judgement, when the ritual of twisting is to occur.

2. The Hive City of Armis

As little more than a grand factorium, the Hive City of Armis has been abandoned by almost all the civilians that used to call this place home.
Still, the city is one of the world’s largest weapon factories and holds the worlds largest storage facilities for ammunition.
The Hive is well guarded by the Imperials PDF, who have reinforced it greatly and guard it with a dark foreboding, for should the Storage facilities here fall, the invading forces will have no shortcomings in the way of ammunition.

3. Planetary High Command

After the fall of Ubertas, the planet’s Military High Command was moved to the planet’s Arctic military base, as this remote location has been deemed to be the best suited area for such an important task.
The arctic base is mostly underground, but it also holds aboveground facilities, and while it doesn’t hold as much manpower as the Hive Cities, it is at least as heavily guarded.

While the Chaos incursion hasn’t shown much interest in the base yet, they may see it as a prized objective once the full brunt of war is brought to bear, for the base holds nine Strategic Nuclear Missiles and almost all of the planets meager air force.
This alone could be enough to wipe out all enemy resistance in and around the Hive Cities, but the Imperials have no wish to slaughter their own to take down the enemy, except as a last resort; and the forces of Chaos are just as likely to bask in the revels of war as to make their sacrifice in one fell swoop of nuclear energy. – What fate is held for the Arctic station of the Planetary High Command remains to be seen.

CHAOS ZONES

4. The Capital Hive of Ubertas

Ubertas was once the pinnacle of Ragnarokk society, holding immense riches and such marvels as “the Mega Domes of Terran Nature”; Huge Bio-domes allowing the planet’s elite to safely visit replicas of four ecosystems; Jungles, Lakes, Woods and Rural farmlands.

These Bio-domes where also the main source of fresh produce on the planet, but they are now lost to the raving madmen of Chaos, for Governour Olbaid Sucidisuac declared independence and took the side of evil readily once the forces of Chaos came upon his Hive.

The Hive is also home to the planet's only real Space Port, and as long as it is held, there is little chance of escape for the billions of people still loyal to the Imperium on Ragnarokk's surface.

Today the City of Ubertas is a dark, teeming hive of insanity, where those who have fallen to Chaos are holding ravaging parties of slaughter orgies and other demonic pleasures.

Ubertas is the mainstay of the planet’s traitor guard and as such it is well guarded, but unknown to the traitors is that the Chaos Legions plan to sacrifice them as readily as the loyalists once the time is right.

5. The Warped Imperial Palace of Governour Olbaid Sucidisuac

Once part of Ubertas Hive, the “Imperial Palace” has now become an independent island, partly removed from the material realm itself.
The palace and part of the ground it was connected to now floats like a giant uprooted icicle tower made of crystal and earth, some way to the north west of Ubertas Hive.

Gravity on this floating isle is erratic and unnatural; daemons stalk it’s gardens and many rooms, and the leaders of the Incursion has seen it fit to use this unholy place as their headquarters, keeping Governour Olbaid with them, allowing him and his elite “friends” a puppet show of authority for their own personal amusement.

The twisted palace is a prized target for the Imperial defenders, but their attempt at destroying the floating island with a nuclear strike failed as gravity twisted and a shield of water particles formed around the palace once the missile detonated, mockingly turning the nuclear strike into a thousand times a thousand white pigeons of peace that then continued to fly away from the island until they quickly rotted, submitting to Nurgles rot and raining down upon the polluted landscape in huge splashes of diseased blood and pus.

The twisted daemonic home of the Chaos Legions is out of reach for Ragnarokk’s Planetary Defenders, but perhaps the forces of the Astartes may win through where regular humans haven failed.

6. The waterworks of the inner sea

This area is an important one as the pumping stations here eventually provide all the planet’s Hive Cities with water and electricity.

The Forces of Chaos had little trouble taking the region, falling upon its unprepared defenders in a might onslaught before slaughtering them to the last man and seizing control of the huge pumping stations.

Since their arrival the region has become increasingly unstable with seismic and volcanic activity; and as if that wasn’t bad enough, the Forces of Chaos has brought daemons and war, for even now the planet’s defenders battle furiously to retake this part of the planet. – Should they fail, Chaos stands free to bring darkness, thirst and disease to the people of Ragnarokk, furthering their suffering and weakening the well defended hives from within, eventually heightening the psychic potential of their doomsday spell as the planet dies.

NEUTRAL ZONE

7. High Orbit

The orbital area around the planet of Ragnarokk is suffused with warp energy playing across its atmospheric surface, but even worse, it is held mightily by an unknown amount of Chaos ships.

This area is held, but not nessacerily heavily manned and it still remains to see how much resistance it will provide once the Imperial crusade crashes into the planet’s atmosphere to regain their high-ground as a staging point for the war.
