Eldar
The foolish
Monkeigh have settled one of the ancient planets from the time
of the War in Heaven.
They believe the planet is kept warm and habitable by volcanic
activity, but the Eldar know better and remember that the planet
is one of the Yngir Tomb Planets.
To make things
worse the humans have used the passageways into the Tomb facilities
as breeding grounds for the terrible Tyranid menace.
Farseer Uthean Gyssearnith of Saim-Hann has foreseen that if
the Tyranid Hive is not destroyed, the life readers of the Yngir
will react to the swell in life forms and the dreaded ancients
will awaken like a dark nightmare. – This must be prevented
or the already weakened Craftworld Iyanden may well be thrown
into terrible danger…
As luck has
it however, a Ork Hulk that has crash landed upon the planet
also damaged the ancient Life Reading systems of the Yngir,
or the ancient enemy would already have awoken.
Furthermore, Farseer Uthean has acquired an ancient artefact
that may well destroy all the Yngir on the planet forever.
But the damaged
sensors have roused the Necron caretakers who now move to repair
them. Revered Uthean Gyssearnith has seen that only one of the
Yngir holds the key to repair the sensors however.
With the Sensors
active it will be impossible to penetrate the Tomb Chambers
of the Yngir where the artefact key may be used to shut down
all the Yngir Systems of the complex for good.
The Necron
Care-taker must be stopped before he can repair the sensors
of the complex. But, the Eldar know they cannot do this alone,
and so they form an alliance with the Imperium to hold of the
enemy and kill as many as they can. - Why waste Eldar lives
unnecessarily when you can waste Monkeigh lives instead?
Owing the once
great Craftworld of Iyanden an old debt, Uthean gathers his
cadre in defence of the Eldar future.
Now, Battle is joined!
Mission:
Assassinate the Necron Lord (if two are present, one must be
designated as the Care-taker target by the Necron Player).
If the Necron Lord is successfully killed by the Eldar, he is
worth 100 Victory Points in addition to his normal value.
Being down for a We Will be Back roll and/or having Phased out
when the game ends counts as being dead.
- Secondary mission; Kill as many enemies as possible.
